You need a plan of attack when you arrive at each park so that you maximize your ride time and minimize your wait time in line. Remember, the fast pass is your friend. If you are not familiar with the fast pass, it is simple. You use your park ticket to acquire a fast pass for certain rides. The fast pass ticket will give you a time to return to the ride. When you do, the wait time is usually 5-10 minutes regardless of the stand by line. But remember, you can only get a second fast pass once your current one reaches the first time listed, or after about 2 hours in some cases. Check the bottom of your ticket. So, if one person doesn't mind doing a little walking while the rest of you wait in a stand by line, you can really move pretty quickly (for Disney) through the park. Here is what my family would typically do when we arrive at each park.
Magic KingdomFast Pass a Mountain and send the rest of the family to Fantasy Land. Keep in mind that some areas of the park may open later than others. I Fast Pass Space Mountain and send the rest of the family to Dumbo. Dumbo doesn't hold a lot of people so the line tends to be longer. After that, hit the rest of Fantasy Land and get that out of the way. Most of the rides here are on a continuous loop and the line moves quickly early in the morning. By the time you finish, your Fast Pass is probably close to being ready. After that I like to take care of Tomorrow Land, starting with the Tomorrow Land Speedway, which tends to be a little slower and very warm later in the day. EpcotFast Pass Soarin' right off the bat and get in line for Test Track. You will wait up to 120 minutes for both shortly after the park opens. After that, try the Nemo ride or Mission Space. This can be a lot of walking, but hitting 3-4 of the major attractions in under two hours is not out of the question. If you have some down time, be sure to walk through Innoventions. I got to ride a Segway Scooter the last time I was there!! Animal KingdomThis may require some walking, but I think it is worth it. Send someone to Fast Pass Everest and the rest of the group go to Kilamajaro Safari. If not everyone is up for Everest, keep in mind that there is a Singles line. In that case, fast pass the Safari and try to ride twice. It's amazing how the animal viewing can change in just 20 minutes. Or an alternative is to fast pass the River Rapids and hit the Safari. Either way, the Safari is where you want to go first as this line gets long rather quickly. Hollywood StudiosIf you're a realy adrenaline junky, the obvious choice is to hit the Tower of Terror and the Rockin' Roller Coaster. Ride one and fast pass the other. The other line that tends to get long early is Star Tours and Toy Story Mania (which I haven't seen yet). So, an alternative is to ride or fast pass Toy Story. There are a lot more "Live Show" attractions here so plan on waiting between showtimes. Save your place and have someone grab a snack while waiting. |
